For the record so long is the danger here is artery-clogging plaque I guess we should also take out the following besides birth control......
Animal Fats
1. Cuts of meat that are high in fat are often high in unhealthy saturated fat and cholesterol that can clog arteries with plaque. Bacon, sausage, high-fat steak cuts like rib eye and chicken (with skin on) are big offenders.
Dairy
2. Cheeses, cream, butter, whole milk and ice cream contain unhealthy doses of saturated fat and cholesterol, which can also clog arteries.
Baked Goods
3. Baked goods are often made with partially-hydrogenated vegetable oils, which are high in artery-clogging trans-fats. Trans-fats are used to keep baked goods moist; they also cause arteries to clog and can contribute to heart attacks and strokes.
Fried Foods
4. Many foods are fried in trans-fats and fats that are highly saturated because these types of fats last longer than more heart-healthy liquid varieties.
Cigarettes
5. While not a food item, cigarette smoke has been shown to have a direct link to the degree in which arteries become plaque-lined and clogged, a condition known as atherosclerosis. _________________ FREE DOMINION FORUM RULES

life is by it's very nature fraught with risks. I dare say we have all done something, consumed something etc etc that posed a risk, be it an immediate risk or one which would not show up until later in life.
I have heard reports from medical sources that some such food item or beverage is a risk to human health one year only to hear that the item in question is not deemed to be as much of a risk, from medical sources years down the road. Bottom line, nobody gets out of life alive, and it is up to us to make the best judgement for our health and longjevity (sp).
For some women, giving birth could be a greater risk than it is for other women, in which case contraception could be considered a method of reducing a risk. |
