Write to Rob Nicholson - Don't resurrect Section 13 !

Documenting free speech attacks by Richard Warman, Warren Kinsella, the Human Rights Commissions and others who would seek to silence conservative discourse in Canada.

Write to Rob Nicholson - Don't resurrect Section 13 !

Marc Lemire and Barbara Kulaszka have done their part and Section 13 has been declared unconstitutional. Unless the ruling is appealed, Section 13 is now effectively dead and it will not be enforced by the CHRT.

Now it is OUR TURN!

Rob Nicholson voted with the rest of the delegates at the last Conservative Convention in support of a policy amendment to delete Section 13.1 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

It is time to remind him of his vote and to tell him that we expect him to NOT appeal the Hadjis ruling in an effort to resurrect this oppressive legislation.

It would be best to send a snail mail letter to this address:

The Honourable Robert Douglas Nicholson
Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada
284 Wellington Street
Ottawa, Ontario
Canada K1A 0H8

However, if you are pressed for time, please, at least take the time to send an email: NichoR@parl.gc.ca

Or phone his office: (613) 995-1547

His Constituency Office contact information is as follows:

2895 St. Paul Avenue, Unit 11 (Main Office)
Niagara Falls, Ontario
L2J 2L3

Telephone: (905) 353-9590
Fax: (905) 353-9588

200 Garrison Road Unit 13
Fort Erie, Ontario
L2A 5F6

Telephone: (905) 871-9991
Fax: (905) 871-5046

If you don't do anything else to help in this battle, PLEASE take the time to do this!!

I MUST admit, however.....that Canadian Politics TOTALLY escapes me.

Nicholson is the Attorney General. He can appeal the Hadjis ruling and attempt to have a Court rule that it is, indeed, constitutional.

He has to understand that the CPC membership expects him to follow through on the vote he made at the Convention to scrap Section 13.

Just in case there are those that think they don't have enough time to do this then here's a way you have no excuse.
This link takes you to the contact on-line for the Conservative Party.

http://www.conservative.ca/EN/4799/74614

Or you might want to contact every other Conservative MP and ask them why they are not holding the party to it's own policy.

<a href=http://webinfo.parl.gc.ca/MembersOfParliament/MainMPsCompleteList.aspx?TimePeriod=Current&Language=E>contact MP's</a>

When I send my letter to Rob Nicholson I will inform him that I have sent a CC to each and every Conservative MP as well as a request for them to hold the party to account.

It's two letters that will take about 10 minutes out of my life. Ten minutes for free speech doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Take the time folks and start your letter today. =D>

One guess is that R.N et al will not appeal but may well supply the direction, the backing, perhaps even the lawyers to enable J.Lyn et al to do the deed. Although the star complainer could stand to lose considerable if nothing is done, why would he spend his own money on an appeal if the HRC will do all of the heavy lifting for him in a cya scenario (actually it would be a ct(heir)a scenario) and let the dice roll. Perhaps both the PCs and the Liberals would both just like to see the whole thing die while an election takes place as both have been responsible over time for the mess that has to be dealt with.

Surely the Justice Dept would not provide all the resources, including financial, for him to appeal it on his own. Perhaps they will all keep their heads down and let the next Section 13 unfold and see what happens. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be, or seeking to be, the adjudicator for the next Sec 13 hearing (or appeal) regardless where it takes place - federally or provincially.

Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the 'mystery of iniquity' in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth... --CCC #675

If you want it to be distinguishable from all the other mail put it in a coloured or linen envelope. It stands out in the crowd. :D

Here's the e-mail I JUST sent to him regarding "Freedom of Speech"

WE NEED IT.

Dear Sir:

While I am not a Canadian citizen, I have become increasingly alarmed at the developments surrounding your "Section 13.1 - Canadian Human Rights Act".

My fear is that the egregious actions of such players as Richard Warman, et al, will become "par for the course" concerning Free Speech and the InterNet.

Please do NOT appeal the decision handed down by the "Hadjis Ruling" in one such case. There is no excuse for bureaucratic thuggery being espoused against innocent parties. And, in the case of Richard Warman, I see your judicial system and its HRC's being used for personal gain and the furtherance of personal vendettas.

I would remind you of the words of one of America's founding fathers:

Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." – Benjamin Franklin

Sincerely,

J.B. STONE

I'll be writing tomorrow night.
I wonder if this is the issue Iggy is hoping for... it could blow up in his face if even a portion of the truth of the abuses gets leaked out, maybe Fox news could run a story on this...
