Goodbye Dear Friend

Postby J Vollrath » 05/ 12/ 08 8:42 am

On Tuesday April 15 of 2008 another Canadian Soldier died.

He was tragically killed in a car accident on Hwy. 7 a few miles west of Ottawa.

His name was Douglas C. Aldridge.

He was not a soldier in the way we normally picture members of our valiant armed forces or those who battle with steel weapons and sharp instruments of destruction.

Doug was a different kind of soldier.

His battleground was actually in Canada, on the airwaves and in the newspapers, talk shows and any other media that became available.

His enemies were those people who would destroy this country from within and those enemies are plentiful.

Doug knew the potential of this country and his restless desire to help change the misled course we are on can be heard on his talk show www.therightside.ca.

Doug was a Canadian through and through but left Canada for the US last year as his wife was offered a good job in Pennsylvania. Living proof of the brain drain but that's another topic.

Doug was winning his battle against prostate cancer.

The news of Doug's untimely death was related in the news stories as the death of an American tourist.

This mistruth printed about Doug's country of birth reflects the very things that Doug fought for as a Canadian soldier.

Journalistic integrity was something that Doug placed in high regard. HE WAS A CANADIAN not an American tourist.

Doug always wanted to speak of truths, not misconceptions, lies or unfounded fact shrouded in smoke and mirrors. Main stream so-called journalists could learn a lot from his resolve to report the facts and their consequences on Canadian society.

Truths are elusive and journalistic integrity is more often than not sprinkled with opinion that could bend the truth to the will of the powers that control our information.

Douglas C. Aldridge would not bend or manipulate or sooth the truth so that it may render satisfaction. He hit the mis-truths over the head with his interviews, pen and keyboard.

Those were his weapons in the fight for Canada.

He was a real, honest, forthright and committed soldier against myths, social engineering, corruptness and attacks on our rights and freedoms.

He believed in the very principles that brought this country to greatness in the 50's and 60's and he watched with anger and frustration how all of those values that were so intrinsic in our nature disappeared in the last 50 years.

I could go on forever with platitudes about my dear friend who I will miss greatly.

A Canadian soldier who will always be remembered as fair, honest and not afraid to speak the truth. A fighter for a return to common sense and a warrior against a politically correct system shrouded in layers of ineptitude and deceit.

Canada has lost a believer of democracy and a General in the fight against an oppressive socialist mindset that has invaded the very fabric of our lives.

Canadians have lost a fighter of immense proportion and the only thing that would render this writer, his friends and family some sense of ease in this great tragedy is that Doug is now, most certainly, on the Right Side.

I'm glad you bumped this, sachinitwc. I missed J. Vollrath's tribute to Doug. We miss him, too.

Technoright, are you and sachinitwc the same person, or what?

   Obviously

technoright/sachinitwc - Before I'd take advice from someone about what is or is not professional, I would expect them to know the basics of writing a sentence. Were you ever taught grammar, capitalization and punctuation in school or were you absent that day?

I don't speak for Connie, just taking note of your very odd request and questioning what you base your judgement on.
