Just trying to guage the political climate here; please pick who you would vote for in a hypothetical election. for the democrat, imagine it's any of the contenders for 08 (or from 04). (Has to be someone who could reasonably be picked to take on Bush. The FAR LEFT democrat party WILL NOT choose the likes of Zell Miller or Joe Lieberman)
"Who is in your face here? Who started this? Who is on the offensive? Who is pushing the envelope? The answer is obvious. A radical Left aided by a cultural elite that detests Christianity and finds Christian moral tenets reactionary and repressive is hell-bent on pushing its amoral values and imposing its ideology on our nation. The unwisdom of what Hollywood and the Left are about should be apparent to all." -Patrick J. Buchanan

I take it for granted you know Bush cannot run for a third term, because of the twenty second amendment.

I still voted Bush.

I don't share your admiration for Lieberman, though. Holy Joe supports abortion and the immigration invasion.

Zell Miller would be closer to my kind of Democrat.

That second Bush vote was mine.
I think he is a better man than Hillary :D
Actually he could not be "stupid" as some say and achieve the presidency. If that were correct it would prove all of America to be a colossal failure and anyone who thinks that should go shill for communist china or a middleastern state.
I have no "label" no "sticker" just a hidden price!

Yeah, I know. It's just a good general indicator of where the centre of FD is on the policital spectrum.

I don't particularly like Zell or Joe (although Zell gave an amazing speech at the 04 Republican National Convention), I just thought that some FD'ers might vote for a Dem option imagining someone like those two as the candidate, when that would never happen in a million years.

Very cruel. I horrified my sleeping cat laughing out spraying my monitor at the very thought of John Kerry. When can we consider ourselves done with the likes of garbage like him? What an absolute piece of trash.

You are right, Bush cannot run for another term. Zell Miller is retired. I would have no problem supporting Zell Miller but the Democrats would never nominate him in a million years.

I think i'd pick neither...is there a Libertarian candidate running?

Fiscal conservatism is really my thing (over social conservatism and right wing foreign policy) so Bush wouldn't get my vote.

The Bush Administration and the Republican Congress (who are really more responsible than Bush) have been running huge deficits, the debt is out of control, and they are showing no fiscal discipline whatsoever so... no.

Another Republican (i can't think of any staunch fiscal cons who are in the running for the next presidential election offhand) I might vote for but there has to be a Republican Congress willing to cut spending (or wait to cut taxes if you're in Iraq) to go along with him/her.

They are in a war. Balanced budgets have got to take a backseat to fighting and winning the war on terror. (Although I do agree that they should trim some fat on the spending; cut education, prescription drug benefits, medicare is what I would do).

As far as staunch fiscal cons go, I heard Steve Forbes might run again. He'd probably be right up your alley. :)

I don't know if those would be the things i'd cut first. I'd go with corporate welfare, and funding for museums, art galleries, and stupid stuff like that. Every congressman seems to have a pet project in their constituency that gets tax dollars.

I've heard the name Steve Forbes before but can't place him. I don't know if that's a serious suggestion or not but i'm going to google him anyway. I doubt he's electable.

Condoleeza Rice, so neither.

But if I had to pick, it'd be Bush just to piss the leftists off.
