Petition to end official bilingualism

Online discussion group/message board to discuss Canada's official language policy and its implications for unilingual Canadians, hosted by Canadians For Language Fairness, based in Ottawa, Ontario. We welcome all Canadians to share their views on this important issue.

Petition to end official bilingualism

Postby Dr.Dusseldorf » 11/ 07/ 04 10:22 am

The injustice of official bilingualism is that it is being applied to
discriminate against anglophones outside Quebec, while Quebec itself
remains militantly unilingual. Official bilingualism is being used
and abused by francophones as a forced entry into positions of power
and influence across Canada.

The petition to end official bilingualism is clearly meant to reach
as many people as possible in Canada and I hope
that those who get this link will participate. Read it through first
and if you agree with the message they are sending out, add your name
to the list and pass it on to all your friends and relatives. Ask
them to help start a nationwide protest against this policy that is
discriminatory and grossly unfair to the majority of Canadians.
It has so far collected over 3500 online signatures:

Anything that will end this civil scourge of Multiculturalism....we gotta start somewhere. :hurray:
Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive; those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C.S. Lewis, In Freedom .

I recall a woman from Ontario in the news a few years ago who required services of the Canadian Embassy while in Madrid, Spain. Upon calling, she reached a telephone recording in French and Espanol.

I didn't hesitate for a second to do this and I encourage everyone else here to do the same.

Programs like official bilingualism do more to tear this country apart then they have ever done to bring it together.
"All which a man without authority can give, -- his unbiased opinion, his honest advice, and his best reasons." Edmund Burke

I support multiculturalism and massive third world immigration to Israel.

Did you know that anybody or everybody in the world is a potential Canadian within 3 months time?

Harper needs to reach some kind of accord with Quebec.

The basis being, that French will be the language in Quebec, and English will be the language elsewhere.

The rights of English and other linguistic minorities in Quebec will have to be sacrificed in order to do this, and to end bilingualism elsewhere.

I personally think an autonomous French speaking Quebec within the Confederation is the only logical Federalist option left.

You can't have it both ways. If we want to end official bilingualism, we will have to budge on this issue, if we want Quebec to remain within Canada.

Nope....no sacrifices s.v.p....BTW....there are more English Quebecers in QC than Franco-Ontariians....We like our English services....and intend to keep them...

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

You said you wanted 50/50, ei. equality, then wait til you reach 50% of Ontario popultion in order to get services in French.
