WELCOME TO FREE DOMINION
DECEMBER 2007 EDITION
Connie and Mark Fournier created the Free Dominion web site in early 2001 as a place for principled conservatives to voice their concerns and views, to discuss and debate issues important to them, to build friendships, to teach, to learn, to work towards common objectives and use commonly held beliefs in organizing political activity to the advantage of all Canadians. Free Dominion is a positive force in promoting conservatism and building a better nation for our children and grandchildren.
Free Dominion does not support any political party, federal or provincial. Our belief is that the strength of our nation rests in its citizens, not in a political party, an elected leader, or in the institutions that serve us. The quality of analysis, ideas and intellectual integrity of our members have made Free Dominion an outstandingly successful conservative web site. Freedoms, in particular the freedom of expression, allow us to analyse, debate and discard or support the concepts members put forward or post from the media for discussion.
Free Dominion will fight to the death efforts by politically correct elitists and their tribunals to stifle our freedom to fully express our views on any concept, idea and issue fully and without reservation. Concepts that we find destructive or repugnant must be discussed and shown to be harmful to our society. We cannot hide from and will never agree to be protected from repugnant or vile concepts. We believe that destructive and harmful concepts must be confronted, debated and destroyed in public venues. If we fail to do so, harmful concepts will grow and spread like a lethal fungus in the damp dark of public ignorance.
We encourage constructive debate, but draw the line at posters who criticize conservatives and conservatism without substantive proof to support the criticism or who criticize without constructive ideas on how to change our political system to correct perceived problems.
Please read the Free Dominion Forum Rules carefully. We designed the rules to benefit all members, to maintain the quality of our web site forums, to meet our mission to promote conservatism and to open conservative discourse free from partisan sniping and personal attacks.
We operate Free Dominion as we believe society as a whole should operate, that is, with minimal but strictly enforced rules. The rules are clear and are enforced.
Free Dominion is not a general chat room, a lonely-hearts club or a place for those who need to feed their egos, denounce conservatives or attack our members. We welcome constructive criticism and debate, but those who are hostile to conservatives and conservative thought are not welcome.
The good reputation of Free Dominion overrides the opinions of any individual member. Those who share the vision and standards of Free Dominion will play an important part of our future. Those few who are unwilling to uphold site standards will lose posting privileges.
LEGAL LIABILITY
As outlined in the agreement for registration, Free Dominion will not be responsible for any illegal content that a member posts. Your FD alias is no protection. You can be called to account for what you publish. Free Dominion will not protect you. “Over-the-top” posts about public figures that test legal limits are unwelcome.
