The pre-Interstate route I used to take to my Aunt & Uncle's place in Mom's hometown of Pomeroy, Ohio went through West Virginia, and what I mostly remember about the state was switchback roads and cars on blocks in front of shanty houses.... That background forms a standing joke I have with Miss MaryAnn- when I first started going to see her she had appliances from various properties she manages sitting in her driveway. On a tony place like The Island this is considered very declasse, gauche', whatever you call it, "it just isn't done!"
So on a trip to the Vet's I happened across this:
