Peter
you give the CPC too much credit with that scenario
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

It's not my scenario, I already said I don't know what's actually going on with this situation.

You could speculate that (a) she was appointed without any such agenda but turned out to act in that way, (b) the allegations are false and she didn't harass her staff, or (c) something else explains it.

This is in any case something that an Ontario and especially Ottawa based blogger could investigate a lot easier than I can here on the west coast. If Suzuki goes off the reservation I can look into that.

She has a nice smile, but employees find her hard to work for. :D
They must be short staffed at these places.
Will they hire white Christian heterosexuals like me?

(X)Sure they will if you think like Stalin.

The rulings that Shirish Chotalia, the Conservative-appointed chairperson of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, harassed two subordinates and engaged in “baffling, if not bizarre” behaviour is the latest twist in a series of upheavals since the Edmonton lawyer took charge of the agency on Sept. 9. 2009.
Two more harassment complaints are pending against Ms. Chotalia, a human rights lawyer who last year was accused by her employees of creating a workplace that had deteriorated “to the point of toxicity.”
More than half of the 25-member staff, including managers, left, took sick leave or retired in her first year on the job.

(X)Exactly. This Stalinist can stay off work forever. What she needs is to be shipped over to North Korea for awhile and maybe when(if they let her go)she comes home she will finally understand what freedom of speech is really all about.

What we don't need anymore in this country is an HRC, when we already have a real court system where one can at least have his/her day in court. Not a communist tribunal where "truth is no defence". What utter bullchit. :shake:

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s Shirish Chotalia extends sick leave

By Don Butler, The Ottawa Citizen July 20, 2012

OTTAWA — The beleaguered head of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal will remain off work on sick leave until at least November, raising questions about whether she will ever return to her six-figure job.

Shirish Chotalia was appointed tribunal chairperson for a term not to exceed seven years in November, 2009 by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. She has been off on stress leave since April and told staff at the time she expected to return to work on June 17.

On June 15, the tribunal’s vice-chair, Susheel Gupta, informed staff and members by email that he would be continuing in the role of acting chairperson and CEO “for the foreseeable future,” said Jamie Robertson, the tribunal’s director of operations.

Robertson said he couldn’t comment on Chotalia’s status for privacy reasons. But Ivan Whitehall, an Ottawa lawyer Chotalia has retained to defend her against an harassment complaint filed with the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner, confirmed that she will remain on “medically certified” sick leave related to stress until November.

The integrity commissioner’s office would not confirm or deny that it’s investigating a complaint against Chotalia, because it is forbidden to do by law, said spokesperson Edith Lachapelle.

Maybe the head of the HRT just had an over load of cases...after all they are still working on the rights of my dog to die with dignity....and my friend has a matter before them...it's about wanting the right to marry his own left hand- that he has had an erotic relationship with since the was 14....It is a committed long term relationship after all.
