The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.

This organization has no authority what so ever. They remind me of the pushy hall monitor in public school who wanted you to believe they have authorship over you- but they don't - but the do if you believe they do. The UN like nice hotels- they adore a fine wine- and above all they love to be seen as more sophisticated than the average unwashed individual.

The United Nations insist that they have united all the nations and some how they are head office and some sort of fascist force to be submitted too. All they are good for is to count corpses..give a few stats..mention there is another genocide taking place, then sit down and have a very comfortable all expense paid study on the subject of killing as more bodies mount up.

The most irksome effect that they have is in the fact that lefties will say "Well the UN said that it is law"- a lot like "I am going to tell my dad on you"...............NEVER grant respect to anyone or anything that does not empower or respect you. The UN is a good candidate for ignorance- to be ignored till they disappear.

From iOTW

UN calls for 'billionaires tax' to help world's poor

The United Nations on Thursday called for a tax on billionaires to help raise more than $400 billion a year for poor countries.

An annual lump sum payment by the super-rich is one of a host of measures including a tax on carbon dioxide emissions, currency exchanges or financial transactions proposed in a UN report that accuses wealthy nations of breaking promises to step up aid for the less fortunate.

The annual World Economic and Social Survey says it is critical to find new ways to help the world’s poor as pledged cash fails to flow.

The idea could appeal to the likes of Warren Buffett, the US tycoon who has complained that he pays a lower tax rate than his secretary. France’s new Socialist government has caused consternation by vowing a 75 percent tax on salaries above one million euros ($1.24 million).

– a tax of $25 per tonne on carbon dioxide emissions would raise about $250 billion. It could be collected by national governments, but allocated to international cooperation.

– a tax of 0.005 percent on all currency transactions in the dollar, yen, euro and pound sterling could raise $40 billion a year.

– taking a portion of a proposed European Union tax on financial transactions for international cooperation. The tax is expected to raise more than $70 billion a year.

If they care so much about the poor let them donate there expense accounts to the poor- Let them stay in cheap motels - let them get low grade hookers and let them eat cake...okay- no cake...Billionaires are like a common purse...they are like private banks and they finance things- It's not like they sit there and do nothing but hoard..The UN guys like to promote communism- socialism and their brand of fascism...but they don't want to live by what they preach.

May be BS - but with the UN, who knows

Iran elected as deputy UN Arms Trade Treaty

New York, July 7, IRNA – Iran has been elected as deputy for the talks to regulate global arms trade treaty.

Some 193 participating countries unanimously voted in favor of Iran during the 4th day of the meeting underway in the United Nations headquarters to draft a bill on regulating arms trade in the world.

124 Nice Deb has a video up about the upcoming UN Small Arms Treaty, set for signing in on July 27, and which a certain SCoaMT is sure to sign. Senate approval? Unlikely, but apparently some provisions may be enforceable without Senate approval.

And yes, it sounds like another backdoor try at gun grabbing by these relentless c*ckbites.

Genocidal Sudan to Win Seat on U.N.’s top human rights body

“Electing Sudan to the U.N. body mandated to promote and protect human rights worldwide is like putting Jack the Ripper in charge of a women’s shelter,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch."

When their former head Koefian...the smart black fellow married the hot blond Swedish chick - That was the moment that that the twerp fully turned his back on Africa. It smacked of some sort of strange racial social climbing- Then later when one of his sons- from another woman was caught skimming UN lucre - I kind of lost all respect for them- NOW they want every rich person who wants to appear benevolent to cough up 400 billion bucks for the "poor of the world"- Which poor are we taking about? How much of this huge bundle of cash will go to the poor folks who sit in the leather chairs in New York?

Like a charity gone wild I would guess that about 100 billion will go to the UN who will use it to live on and then have a study on which friends they can continue to bribe with the other 300 billion. Those friends in turn will continue to support the UN...It's a big circle jerk.

That creepy rock in the basement of the UN - in a dark place they call the prayer room should be jack hammered ...and the UN building itself should be turned into a very nice homeless shelter...The main chamber would also make a very good basket ball court for poor kids .......yep- The UN would not disagree with this...Cos' they are all about love and good will- correct?

''Nutbars"? You must be from my old hood. Being older than you - as a kid I remember the UNITED NATIONS- Like all of us at that time we thought- great- a united world of mutual co-operation. Decades later all they seem to do is pit one nation against the other and sit like trouble makers on a bar stool- who whisper to the guy on the left that he sleeps with his mother- then whisper to the guy on the right that he is gay and in love with his dog. The two guys beat the crap out of each other as the UN goes through their pockets.

The bike in your avatar..your pick is great- My youngest son just started riding a twenty something year old 650 single cylinder - a real thumper- He was by today and he is so in love with riding...sure wish I was him sometimes...He just did his first long road trip and it was an endurance run....So proud of him for keeping himself in one piece...Never seen a guy so in love with a machine...cheers.
