Connie, the most public response to former FreeDominion member Arthur Topham being 'disappeared' - at least until Canada's vaunted news media is informed by BC's Attorney General - is found right here on FreeDominion.

OTOH, for all the media back-patting that's going on right now for putting the boots to Sec 13, FreeDominion's role in the matter doesn't 'appear' anywhere, which is a glaring omission considering that this site was also subject to a CHRC 'investigation'.

Thanks for nothing, Jonathan Kay et al... [-X

You really think Kay and Steyn are going to give Connie a hat tip ?
It's taken the MSM as well as most bloggers, ten years to say "Marc Lemire" without prefacing or suffixing a neo-nazi or white supremacist label.

Wonder why the only time you really see McLeans is in the doctor or dentist's office, or why NP newsprint / news-speak has lost so much circulation

Now that Steyn no longer writes for MacLeans I haven't even bothered looking at it...

I played a minor role in assisting Free Dominion members to campaign the 2008 CPC national convention to adopt a resolution:
12. iii) We support legislation to remove authority from the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal to regulate, receive, investigate or adjudicate complaints related to section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.
Free Dominion members gave freely of their time and talents to produce materials and pamphlets to inform delegates of why this resolution was important and worthy of their time. Other Free Dominion members worked tirelessly to ensure that delegates received the materials and were informed.

The resolution passed with unanimous support of convention delegates. The CPC has finally acted on that message. As I have stated elsewhere, the action is too little and too late.

However, Free Dominion members changed the course of government.

Take a bow! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.

and you won't find that story anywhere in the blogsphere or MSM - others will step forward and take credit
- as none will admit that the unwashed, uncouth, unaffiliated, less-than-savory band of mongrel characters here at Freedo could possibly accomplish a feat of that magnitude, let alone possess the mental capacity to contemplate such

The problem is that the gutter has only been half cleaned, there is a lot more sewage still there, the whole apparatus should have been demolished including the bigots who ran and worked for the evil thing.. Same a c-68, the WHOLE thing, not just it's legs, should have been cut off.

Good riddance to part of a bad law

By David Warren, The Ottawa Citizen June 8, 2012

According to the opposition parties, the Conservatives avoided much fuss and blowback, while removing Sections 13 and 54 from the Human Rights Act, by devious means. The repeal was quietly tabled as a private members’ bill, and the vote on third reading whipped while the prime minister was out of harm’s way, abroad.

This would seem to be substantially correct, and let me congratulate the Conservative government on getting away with it. I, along with everyone in Canada, with something to say on any controversial subject, can breathe a little easier, thanks to their success. I am also impressed that the government was able to remember the shameful cases brought against Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant, for five long years before finally seizing the day.

I think it was a section 54 charge I was investiagted for here a few years ago by rcmp Constable David Merritt from the KIngston detachment Federal Enforcement Section.

He was supposed to get back to me on the identity of the complainant but never did. Wonder what happened?

My background report on him given me by an individual who knew him indicated he was a reasonable and decent individual.

I guess it must have been lynch the grinch. :-k
