It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.

One human hair can support 6.6 pounds.

The average man's penis is two times the length of his thumb.

Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.

A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.

Women blink twice as often as men.

The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

Women will be finished reading this by now.

Men are still busy checking their thumbs.

For sale: 1964 Mercury, one lady owner, 576,000 miles

A 93-year-old Florida grandmother has parked her car for good after driving 576,000 miles (927,000km) over 48 years at the wheel of one trusty vehicle.

Rachel Veitch bought her Mercury Comet Caliente for $3,289 in February 1964. It has outlasted three marriages and 18 battery changes, she says.

On 9 March she had to give up driving as she has become legally blind.

Mrs Veitch plans to sell the car instead of giving it to her family amid concerns they might not look after it.

"They're not going to get it. They couldn't take care of it like I did," Mrs Veitch told Fox News. She has four children, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren..................http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-17603598?s

That's one bad ass kitten they've got in the Uganda Olympic Track & Field Development Program.

Note: Hippos kill more people than crocodiles. I'm not sure what this says about kittens.
(This was actually taken at the Murchison National Park, Uganda)

A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop.

The surgeon was there, waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his bike.

The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey, Doc, can I ask you a question?"

The surgeon a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, fix 'em, put 'em back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic...

"Try doing it with the engine running."

I don't think it's worth it's own thread but I do have a question.

I started flirting with the ladies but one thing that is a bit embarassing for me is thanI don't know the good spots for a date in town (Edmonton). It's not very manly to let the girl pick the spot eh ;)

So you guys know of any good dating spot in Edmonton? :)

I can't comment on clubs as most are now more parking lot stabbing centres controlled by gangs as far as I know. One guy blasted a shot gun through the wooden doors of one downtown and caught about six people with the shot after they tossed him out and locked the door.

That said, a weekend stroll on White (82nd) Avenue in Old Strathcona from gift shops to cafes is a nice time, maybe taking in Queen Elizabeth Park down near the river below Saskatchewan Drive about four blocks north on 104 st.

Visit the Muttart Conservatory (those glass pyramids in the river valley) for a pleasant afternoon of conversation in good company. The gigantic stylized white steel bird nearby is from the Pope's visit. It graced the site of his mass at Namao just north of the city.

Never rule out aspects of West Edmonton Mall. A few dates later risk the water park. It's a hoot and you'll never want to leave. Afterwards, stroll over to Bourban Street in the mall to interesting bars, pubs and restaurants. This would be marvelous on a miserable winter day without having to go outside. There's also a full blown amusement park, mini golf, submarines, etc.

President Barack Obama was in the Oval Office when his telephone rang.

"Hallo, President Obama" a heavily accented voice said. "This is Archie, up ere at the Harp Seal Pub in Badger's Cove, Newfoundland, Canada, eh. I am callin' to tells ya dat we are officially declaring war on ya!"
...
"Well Archie," Barack replied, "This is indeed important news!
How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation "there is myself, me cousin Harold, me next-door-neighbor Mick, and the whole dart team from the pub. That makes eight!"

Barack paused. "I must tell you Archie that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Archie. "I'll have at call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. " Mr. Obama, the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be Archie?" Barack asked.

"Well sir, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry's farm tractor."

President Obama sighed. "I must tell you Archie, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke."

"Lord above", said Archie, "I'll be getting back to ya."

Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day.. " President Obama, the war is still on! We have managed to git ourselves airborne! We up an' modified Harrigan's ultra-light wit a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Legion have joined us as well!"

Barack was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you Archie that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Jumpins," said Archie, "l'll have at call youse back."

Sure enough, Archie called again the next day. "President Obama! I am sorry to have to tell you dat we have had to call off dis 'ere war."

"I'm sorry to hear that" said Barack. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

Well, sir," said Archie, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a bunch of pints, and come to realize dat dere's no way we can feed two million prisoners.."
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
