Private sector job?
Not likely.

Have to say I laughed at that. Well done, sir.

Rae gets leadership blessing from some local Liberals
Daniel Nolan
Fri Apr 13 2012
Bob Rae hasn’t said he will go after the job he’s been doing on an interim basis, but some Hamilton Liberals are already saying they’ll back him to be the next leader of the federal Liberal party.

“I’ve absolutely no problem voting for Bob,” former Hamilton Centre candidate Anne Tennier said after Rae visited the city Thursday to address a party fundraiser and field questions from The Hamilton Spectator’s editorial board. “I think he’s done a terrific job.”.................................http://www.thespec.com/news/local/artic ... l-liberals

The Liberal party and Bob Rae inparticular should watch for symptom of whiplash from going back and forth.

I'm very interested in the upcoming Liberal leadership race, I'm hoping to see an alternative party to the Conservatives that isn't left-wing, but I have yet to see any active online discussions about the leadership race. I guess there are not many Liberals on this forum but I'm hoping some people here are able to discuss the leadership and hopefully have some knowledge on possible candidates and what not.

If they pass a rule that says nobody who is stupid can apply for the leadership position, they will have effectively killed the party. :D

Be nice Edward; one has to be a member and supporter of the Liberal party to run for the leadership. There will not be any surprise candidates. There will not be any authentic leadership when the race is over.
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.

Being leader of the Liberal Party is a pretty bad job nowadays.

If Rae wants it so bad, I say ''why not?'' It's not like he's gonna become prime minister!

he just doesn't know what to do while Justin Trudeau makes up his mind. If Trudeau finally says yes, Rae can go back to doing whatever it is he did. If Trudeau says no, Rae can wait to be asked.

Here's a Macleans article about Justin Trudeau not running....

http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/05/04/just ... seriously/

Looks like he's geniune about not going....this time.

Probably forthe best.

Whoever runs next election will probably not win, but probably will do better than last time.

When Justin takes over the party won't be a joke anymore.

Being leader of the NDP didn't seem like a great job just over a year ago either.

Urban dictionary defintion:

Liberaltarian

1) A person who claims to be a Libertarian, yet cannot seem to find a single thing wrong with ANY massive violation of Constitutional law proposed by a Leftist. 2) A self-described "Libertarian" who continues blaming the Bush administration for all the increasingly-Fascist activities of the current administration. See: Hypocrite.
Chris just used his blog entry for today to pen a twelve-paragraph screed about the evils of "Neocon Fascism", then finished it by praising Obama's attempts to censor his critics. He's SUCH a Liberaltarian!
