Terrifying Ekos poll: NDP almost in lead

IIRC there was a big change after the PM / Party Leader was elected at a convention, rather than by sitting members of the House of Commons. The idea was that a convention was more democratic, but in reality the PM has effectively become a 4 year dictator, and MPs litle more than trained seals.

What if somebody obscure wins the NDP leadership? The attack ad will have to go something like this ...

"Nobody knows much about Dave Squarehead, but we imagine there must be something really bad we can say about this man. Just look at him. There has to be something."

I only ever really heard of three of their MP's period, well four and a half if you include Libby Davies. One is dead. His housekeeper, er wife and the F-bomb nut in Winnipeg. Svend Robinson was always solid entertainment of course. There was another guy, maybe Manitoba, who couldn't shave and couldn't tie a Windsor knot. Dippers tend to remain in the news for being wacky. Kind of like hippies who never grew up.

And then, in a blissful morning dawn of magic in the dwindling stardust appeared as a gift from heaven...



I couldn't name one of the leadership candidates if my life depended on it. Zero media coverage here. I expect they're running only to have control over Ruth-Ellen anyway.

An NDP federal government would be a nightmare. Mulclair is the most electable and he looks set to win. The Tories better get the attack ads going NOW! They need to cut the per vote subsidy now too.

This is an Eckos poll, when was the last time they were right? Never!
