Dad arrested over daughter's gun drawing

QMI AGENCY

Police arrested a Kitchener, Ont., father outside his daughter's school because the four-year-old drew a picture of him holding a gun.

Jessie Sansone told the Record newspaper that he was in shock when he was arrested Wednesday and taken to a police station for questioning over the drawing. He was also strip-searched.

"This is completely insane. My daughter drew a gun on a piece of paper at school," he said.

Officials told the newspaper the move was necessary to ensure there were no guns accessible by children in the family's home. They also said comments by Sansone's daughter, Neaveh, that the man holding the gun in the picture was her dad and "he uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters," was concerning.

Police also searched Sansone's home while he was in custody. His wife and three children were taken to the police station, and the children were interviewed by Family and Children's Services.

Sansone's wife, Stephanie Squires, told the newspaper no one told them why her husband had been arrested.

"He had absolutely no idea what this was even about. I just kept telling them, 'You're making a mistake.'"
Several hours later, Sansone was released without charges.

I hope the sues the police for false arrest and false imprisonment, or whatever charges he is able to bring against these fascists.

Does anyone in "the system" have even a modicum of common sense these days?

What was he charged with?

This does not smell right. Either we are not getting the whole story or somebody has some explaining to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if he told her this to give her a sense of security. Children are surrounded by bad guys - we tell them that - and monsters. If I had a child who was scared of the dark I would tell them the same thing if I had a gun.

Tonight I took my kids aside and told them never to draw pictures or tell their teachers that Daddy is a hunter, lest I be financially prepared to legally defend myself from the innocous, confusing and nonsensical legislation known as the Firearms Act.

An interesting observation in the comments section at the NP

    Alces
It's easy to focus on the gun issue in this sad case, but a bigger issue is the fact that the relationship of parents and their children has been changed under Canadian law since same-sex marriage became law. Bill C-38 struck out references to "natural parent", "blood relationship", and so on, and replaced them with "legal parent", "legal relationship", etc.
Children were formerly part of a family because of natural law which the country's law recognized. Now the state grants parents the right to their children. This kind of intrusion of the state into families is only likely to increase.

I bought my son a Daisy pump action BB gun when he was five so he could go hunting with me and feel like he was part of the outing. It also taught him responsibility.

Fast forward to the present, and he owns several handguns, has no moving violations, no at fault accidents, owns his own business, has never consumed alcohol or used tobacco, or drugs, has a net worth far above my own, owes no money, has a pilot's licence, plays classical guitar, is a certified arborist, is so trustworthy he has signed and legal access to ALL my investment and operational accounts, hs access to all my vehicles, etc etc etc.

I guess getting him that gun was the start on sending him down the road to crime and criminality.

...and that girl actually drew a picture of a gun? Horrors, what has the world come to. I am shocked I tell you, absolutely shocked. They should execute that father for such criminal behavior and for good measure, give the little girl a life sentence for practicing her freedoms.

I bet the enforcement stooges were from the opp, the same clowns who are protecting criminals at Caledonia, continuing to arrest law abiding citizens, and the same goofs who persecuted Bruce Montague.

It's a good thing pop isn't in the Air Force. Would they raid a family farm looking for a CF-18?

The matter herein described at the top of the topic is something the Prime Minister himself should get involved in. He married an Alberta ranch gal who rides horses, dirt bikes and no doubt knows guns. This is over the top. People this way have livestock and livestock have predators. Every farm is guaranteed to have several firearms. Most kids on those farms can use them with effectiveness if necessary.

so, I see it was a plastic toy gun, from the several news reports I just read

no charges and apology issued

The school principal, Steve Zack, said a staff member called child welfare officials because the law requires them to report anything involving the safety or neglect of a child.

Who was it earlier this week who said that teachers are not required by law to report suspected child (and sexual) abuse ... here is proof that I was correct.

I wonder if teachers report themselves for the destructive politically correct bs and propoganda they teach vulnerable children or if they report homosexual activists for pushing a lifestyle that is harmful and destructive?

How does one spell HYPOCRISY?

Edit:

Smallliberal - we are called to investigate and are expected to use our godly given gifts of discernment. This casts a pall over teachers that this lady (and I guarantee you it was a lady) who called in the police here.

Well I can't say so myself after that tragic boating accident. Lost 'em all, yessir.
