I don't expect one seat for the conservatives in NL on May 3rd.
As I see the situation back home, NL'ers just don't trust Harper.
So they will vote for Iggy but that will solve nothing either. Iggy made it quite clear that he supports the Lower Churchill hydro project and $4 billion loan, but also stated he thinks he can get Quebec back on the deal and make it a fair deal. He said Canada must be united....such a green energy project is great for a united Canada...etc But wait a minute....isn't Nova Scotia a part of Canada?(the undersea cable). I guess Quebec is more important to Iggy than NS. Anyways, don't NL'ers realize Iggy would like to see Quebec into the new hyrdo deal?....haven't we been down this road before?
As for the Marystown shipyard issue, from what I understand the company withdrew from the bidding process on the future $35 billion navy re-fit program because the company/shipyard is so busy with work/contracts they have now and don't have the capacity to handle any navy work. Sounds good to me, there's lots of work already at the shipyard....but it seems someone in NL is succeeding conning the public that the provincial and federal conservative parties somehow stole shipyard work away from NL.
NL will vote Liberal in a federal election....nothing new here...but I will have a good laugh as usual.
