Anyway,

1) Yes the GST is a government slush fund. That is why cutting it is a conservative move. It is a decision to reduce the power of government.
- Good so far.

2) I do not think private health care as we have now is any kind of problem, it is probably benmeficial. My conclusions come from extrapolating the trend. I am skeptical that the current framework is sustainable, private health care will want to grow their profit base and will lobby extensively to do so. They can only grow by successfully lobbying to eliminate the public system.
- I've never thought making money to be a bad thing. Nevertheless, it is doubtful it would get to that because it would still be operating under the tenets of the CHA.

3) There are no democaries in the middle east. Israel has 4 million Palestinians under its direct and total control and they do not have the right to vote.
- Israel is a democracy. Should the 4 million Palestinians have a vote in Israel? It would be the end of the nation. As well, why should a people who actively participate in terrorist acts against Israel be allowed the democratic right to vote in that nation?

4) The Arab leaders are cowards, and so is Barack Obama.
- We agree.

GST should never been cut. It should be raised to 20%.

Then, personal income rates could be eliminated.

Right now, people are paying consumption taxes on dollars earned after taxes. To pay a 13% HST, one must earn approximately 35 cents.

People do not mind paying taxes as long as they are not viewed as punitive. Taxes and user fees are at punitive levels.

The Harper government has been the best government Canada has seen in its history.

I'm hoping for a Conservative majority after the next election.

So am I but with Harper at the helm I'm hoping someone at least takes him by the shoulders and shakes him back to at least being a Conservative.

I personally think he has done well advancing the conservative agenda giving the situation.

- Taxes are lower. I consider the amost 30% drop in the GST cut to be fantastic. As the GST is also the most visible tax in the coutry, a cut to it also makes it politically unlikely to be raised again. As a small business person, I also see the corporate tax cut to fantastic, too. Lower taxes make it easier for me to expand and to create more jobs.

- With the cut to GST and corporate taxes, the Liberals and NDP will be unable to undertake their plans for nanny state new spending programs that we don't want and can't afford in the long run.

- Public respect has returned to the military. After years of the Canadian military being an underfunded joke (with the bulk of our nation's defence being offloaded to the Americans) Canada final has a military with the financial support and purpose to make Canadians proud once again.

- Doing jack squat on the carbon/global warming file. I live in Saskatchewan, and our livelihoods depend on fossil fuels for basically all of our economic activity. Any carbon taxes or cap and trade systems would have serious negative consequences to our boom. The Conservatives have gained the reputation the greatest opposition in any government in the world to the global warming nutbars. That makes me proud.

In Saskatchewan right now, things are booming like never before. The positive political climate has a lot to do with that.... and, I want it to continue long into the future.

After watching the NDP destroy this province I find myself slightly envious.

Just saw it now, they really managed to say just about nothing in fifteen minutes.

My idea of a Harper interview:

TV -- Some people say you surround yourself with yes-men. Any comment?

HARPER -- Everyone agrees with me so it does not matter who I have around me.

TV -- Is there anything you regret?

HARPER -- You are still breathing.

TV -- Can we expect any change if you get a majority?

HARPER -- I might switch to a red sweater.

TV -- What are your biggest accomplishments?

HARPER -- Resisting the urge to kill. Always being there for Chairman Hu's calls. Never letting on that I was a Trudeau liberal. Same as yours basically.

I was through Saskatoon a couple weeks ago for the first time in years. It was indeed hard to ignore the multitude of construction cranes downtown. Good show!
MORE ALBERTA. Image Less Ottawa.

I actually saw this interview, well most of it. I was visiting a friend who has TV/cable. Harper has become much slicker and yes his sell is I am a liberal too as far as policy goes but wants to hang on to the conservative label. The longer we tolerate what the CPC stands for the further we sink into a liberal police state.

The projection is for Saskatoon to grow from its current size of 220,000 to 300,000 by the end of the decade. I would imagine that growth for Regina will be similar.

Things are booming here. As I said before, much of it has to do with finally having a favourable political climate. We are reaping the benefits of not having socialists and liberals running the show, both provinically and federally.

Harper hopefully stays Prime Minister for a long, long time to come.

This message was approved by Stephen Harper.
