Been having to take of the grandmother-in-law ever New Years Eve because the rest of the family abandons her.
Have fun going to bed early. Wish I could.
Bless you D.J. I spent Christmas Day visiting with my Mom at a senior's home. They truly appreciate any kind of attention anyone can give them. I am sure that is the case with your grandmother-in-law.
There are many folks in the Senior Living where Mama is who never get any visitors and spend their days in the common room playing cards. My sisters and their children and grandchildren make it a point to go in and speak to everyone when they come in and out to see Mama, and its clear they appreciate it.
Ironically, while the family waxes eloquent about these people who get no visitors, should I mention that I, their sister, also get no visitors, they tell me it is my fault for not living in the same town with them. If I inquire where the families of the people they feel sorry for live, they say *Now dont start that again!*
