Canadian Civil Liberties Association in John Doe Appeal!!

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association has made a Motion to be added as intervenors in our Appeal of the John Doe decision!

We are very excited and grateful to them for their help and support!

Section 13 and Richard Warman have caused a lot of problems for our country. This is one of those problems and a part of the mess they have left behind for the rest of us to clean up.

Interesting.

They are suggesting submission of a 12-page Factum and 20 minutes or oral argument at the hearing to put in their 2 cents.

Warman would not consent to their participation, but he didn't oppose it either. Maybe it is a matter of posturing but it may have had the effect of making the CCLA's submissions more time consuming for the grant of intervenor status than if the parties had all consented.

So, anymore "extreme right wing" organizations like the CCLA coming out to help?

Great news!
I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.

The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.
