ROY WILSON SUPPORT & PRAYER THREAD

I just got off the phone with a man who's been Roy's close friend for 20 years, and I PROMISED him I wouldn't reveal his name or contact info so that the wouldn't get "flooded" with info requests.

Evidently, Roy was "found" at the bottom of the stairs at his house by a returning "house guest".....

She says she "thought he was drunk and passed out"....

So, she didn't TRY to wake him, but instead went to bed...

When she woke up some time LATER [don't know if it was minutes or HOURS]

She saw he hadn't moved and called an ambulance.

He was then airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He was just taken off the "critical list" today and move up to "stable".

This is VERY hard for me to type out as I REALLY like Roy and I'm basically in SHOCK at this time......

His friend tells me that the doctors' prognosis is NOT "good".

He is not allowed ANY visitors, etc.

His friend tells me that the doctors said that in a situation like Roy's....

whereby the front two lobes of his brain are inundated with blood....

it most often causes the DEATH of brain cells and his hopes of "recovery" are therefor VERY slim.

VERY SLIM.

Of course I would ask you all to PRAY for Roy's speedy and complete recovery.

He had been a GREAT deal of support for ME when I was last hospitalized and he called my Mother frequently to check up on her and my condition.

There were SEVERAL times during my last hospitalization, while I was in a COMA, that the doctors thought I was a goner, so that's not NECESSARILY the case with Roy, either.

But, God Bless Him, he's at LEAST not feeling any pain or agony at this time, but he DOES face some pretty fierce circumstances IF the "brain damage" proceeds as the doctors expect.

His DAUGHTER has asked the local Peterborough Police to INVESTIGATE.

It's only SPECULATION, but there COULD BE some undesirables that "caused" his injuries and even though I myself cautioned him in that respect.....I PRAY that I was "wrong".

Whether you "like" me OR Roy is immaterial at this moment.

He's a worthy individual for YOUR prayers and good wishes.

One thing for SURE.....you always know where you stand with a guy like Roy.....and he'd give you the shirt off his back and the wallet out of his hind pocket if he thought you needed it.....!!!

I am TRULY traumatized by this news and had to "get it off my mind" ASAP as it's going to RUIN the rest of MY day for sure......with worry and concern, etc.

I'm NOT "pleased" to be the bearer of this news.

Please PM me if you want any specific details. I'd rather this thread did NOT become a "rumor mill" or a place to speculate about the varied aspects of his condition.

I will update this info the MOMENT I learn anything more.....

I was going to call him too as he hasn't picked up a PM from me sent on 4/30. No response to an email I sent either. My last private conversation with him was Saturday 4/25.

I fear something else is at play here. I hope not but it wouldn't be the first time.

It must be the man in me, but I still can't reconcile leaving someone passed out at the bottom of the stairs. Since it can't be undone and all it will do is stress me further, I can only hope and pray for Roy.

Folks, PLEASE be aware that I repeated VER BATIM as much as possible from what I was told ASAP so it would be fresh in my mind.

I've e-mailed his friend with this thread URL and I'm SURE he will contact me as time allows when he finds out anything more current.

Like I said, my info was "second hand" at best and although I have absolutely NO reason to "doubt" Roy's personal friend, there are ALWAYS inaccuracies at a time like this.

Don't go off the deep end with recriminations, etc.

It's only 'HEARSAY' at this time.....!!!

NOBODY really "close" to Roy, such as a family member, was THERE when this happened.

We're ALL somewhat shocked and dismayed at the prospects and the news.

I know J.B. it is hearsay and I applogize, but with some of the ways Roy has been treated by those he was trying to help it is hard to hear that again he may have been let down. I am just mad and when that happens I tend to speak off the cuff without thinking.

I had the exact SAME reaction when I heard....AND, you could HEAR the stress in his friend's voice when he told me.
