Change your bookmarks to freedominion.com! PARTY TIME!

We are very excited to announce that, after years of trying, braveheart has helped us to acquire the final top level domain for Free Dominion!

We got freedominion.com last night and Michael has updated the software so that all of your links will work with .com as well as .ca.

We are recommending to our members that you change your bookmarks to .com right away. We will keep the .ca address functional, but we want to become independent of oganizations like CIRA (who has already shut down our domain without cause on one occasion).

Log-in page is still screwed up. When I log in, I get kicked back to FD.ca

Yes, it is a little early to change your bookmarks. The DNS was changed last night, I wanted to give it a solid 24 hours before I changed the base site away from freedominion.ca to make sure people that use DNS servers that are not quickly updated are still able to connect.

I will make the changeover tonight, and then the primary site will be freedomion.com, which will mean that everyone will have to log in again (because the cookie that stores the login info is associated with the domain name), and people coming in on freedominion.ca will be kicked over to freedominion.com (the opposite of what happens now).

Great News, Connie. Does this mean your servers are no longer tied to Canada, so that infernal HRC will not be able to shut your posters off? I hope so!

How long are you going to keep the freedominion.ca going?

Cause there are plenty of blog posts (let alone items found in search engines) that are pointing to specific discussion threads on freedominion.ca

If you're planning to abandon the .ca domain - at least try to maintain it as a "redirect" for a while.

We aren't going to abandon it. We are going to keep all of the top level Free Dominion domains and point them to FD indefinitely.
