Prostitutes push for Canada's first co-op brothel

When I first read the word co-op in the headline, my first thoughts were:

Does this mean the young cute girls who get more clients will now have to subsidize the older less favourable women with their work?

Does this mean more hours for less pay?

Will "GrandMa's House" be involved? :D

Firemen are now referred to as firefighters.
Postmen as letter carriers.

Although one who farms being called a farmer sounds fine, calling one who fishes a fisher still sounds odd.

Language changes. "They" is now often used as a singular pronoun. And we might as well do away with the apostrophe. There's now about a dozen people left in the world who use it properly. In this forum, it is mis-used 90% of the time.

Why has there never been a female "actor" turn down a "Best Actress" award?
The above is MY OPINION, and DOES NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT THE OPINIONS OF THE OWNERSHIP OF FREE DOMINION.

It's like how they changed the phrase "illegal immigrant" into "undocumented worker".

Words matter, and yes, folks, there is an agenda with the MSM.

The one that grates at me the most is "fishers"..... I mean what the sam hill is a fisher.

Yeah I know. For me it will always be fisherman, sorry ladies.

What do we call firemen now by the way?

even better, what do we call a doberman?

"Heeeere, Killer"......????

Prostitutes push for Canada's first co-op brothel

"We need a safe work site. We need a safe organizing space. A place to be a community. Health and safety training for workers entering the trade.

What kind of a permanent community can be built on the philosophy of selling yourself for sex, regardless of how healthy and safe they strive to make the brothel?

"We talked about having quickie rooms. Then nice rooms. Maybe a VIP room. Maybe a dungeon," she mused.

"Nice rooms"? Unlikely. All the rooms will be a dungeon to some degree.

A "VIP room" for hypocritical judges, televangelists, and politicians? Definitely.

In all likelihood the fornicators will get their co-op brothel licence from the City of Vancouver, but I can't be convinced it will create a stable, safe and healthy community.

Yes, that's how a co-operative works.

I wonder if they will try to disguise this as a hotel or something.

VANCOUVER - Call it a safe erection site.

B.C. sex trade workers are exploring the possibility of opening what would be Canada's first co-op brothel owned and operated by prostitutes as a way of escaping the dangers of Vancouver streets.

The co-op could offer women a safe place to work, health and safety training, and "a place to be a community," according to one of the authors of the report endorsing the idea.

"It's so dangerous to work in the streets, women are saying they'll do anything to work indoors and some women are being extorted," said sex trade worker Sue Davis.

"The co-op is seen as a way we could self-direct what we need right now," she said. "We need a safe work site. We need a safe organizing space. A place to be a community. Health and safety training for workers entering the trade. That's the most dangerous time, because you don't know how to work safely."
Davis said a sex trade co-op could offer different levels of membership.

"Some people could buy in. Maybe you don't want to be a long-term member, but the rooms are still available. Members could vote to buy a hot tub. They could set up scholarships for the children of killed sex trade workers. You could have people working on the computer doing administrative duties.

"We talked about having quickie rooms. Then nice rooms. Maybe a VIP room. Maybe a dungeon," she mused. "I think this could be positive for the sex worker community and the greater community."

It sounds to me like these gals are considering setting up a business.
I'm sorry, I must have missed something. Have we legalized prostitution in Canada?

Are the perameters for operating a sex co-op outlined by the BC government? What's the required square footage? Is it decided on a per "John" basis?

If it's considered a "trade" will the schools now be promoting this as an option on career day? Also, since most trades are taught thru apprenticeships - inexperienced student working with an experienced tradesman - how are we going to determine which "sex trade workers" are performing at a "journeyman" level?

One more thing - Have we lost our minds? :chair:

Me, me, I want to be the quality control officer. It will be a tough thankless job, but someone has to sacrifice themselves for the protection of all potential "johns". :barf: :barf:

All kidding aside. Canada has allowed everything else, SSM, injection sites for drug users, so why not allow brothels?

Canada has become the new "Holland".
