Wait times are irrelevant.
This is a moral issue.
It is pure evil to prevent:
(a) a doctor from selling his medical expertise to a patient at a mutually agreeable price; or
(b) a patient from paying a medical expert for his/her services.
It's not just that the provincial monopolies are serving us poorly (and they ARE...I waited ONE YEAR for an MRI to find out whether I had a distended blood vessel - one feeding my brain - that was about to burst...fortunately, I didn't...it only takes a sneeze or a fall to burst such a vessel and cause massive brain damage...as happened to one of my friends).
Advocates for a government monopoly on health insurance are evil bastards and, if I lived in one of those towns in the USA that allowed tresspassers to be shot, I'd have my gun at the ready for the first commie bastard that stepped foot on my land with a "Ban Private Healthcare" leaflet in his hand.
They are killers...cannibals, who hope to survive by making others suffer and die. It happens in Canada - the supreme court of canada found that to be the case, and struck down Quebec's ban on private health insurance.
Oh, but that was just the Supreme Court of Canada. What do they know, right Kommrade?
