TIME TO MEET OUR OPPONENTS ON THE STREETS OF OTTAWA!!

Postby Joseph24 » 11/ 19/ 02 9:44 pm

TO ALL CONSERVATIVES IN OTTAWA AREA:

My name is Joseph24, I am conservative activist in the Ottawa area. I am also a member of the Ottawa-South Canadian Alliance riding association. I think it is high time that we stand up to counter the radical left on the War of Terrorism issue. I am tired of seeing them march every Sunday through Ottawa unopposed. I think we need a concerted conservative counter-demonstration to show our support for America in their war against Al-Qaeda and the regimes that shelter or support them. I think this can re-energize the right in this city. Canadians oppose terrorism and support uprooting them. With recent warnings to Canada from al-Qaeda sources, I think we should bring this issue to Ottawa residents and Canadians. Threats to liberty and democracy in one part affect us all... This is a personal desire of mine -- To show these cowardly leftist academics, partisans and anarchists that the REAL people of Canada stand with America on this...

PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS IF YOU THINK IT'S TIME FOR THE RIGHT TO MAKE ITS PRESENCE KNOWN TO OTTAWA. I WANT TO SCHEDULE A COUNTER-DEMONSTRATION ASAP!!!

PUBLICLY SUPPORT THE WAR ON TERROR!!

EdS and Grig are from Ottawa, perhaps you can combine forces for your rally.

Also I'm not sure where Greg McNeeley is from but he seems to be activist orientated.

Here is a link to Free Republic to show you some of the things they do at their rallies to support the troops.

This is one particular thread shows some of their signs and how they set up their rally on prominent street corner for all to see.

Here is their Chapter's Infinite Freep page.

And their home page.

And the Chapter page (Free Dominion is listed on it).

I really like their graphic work.

Hope that helps. :D

Freeping the protesters

Postby EdS » 11/ 19/ 02 10:46 pm

Hi Joseph24. I too am conservative activist in the Ottawa area, and I am also a member of the Ottawa-South Canadian Alliance riding association. In fact, I'm one of the "sector 3" area reps.

Your suggestion of a counter demonstration has some merit and some problems to be aware of. It's an idea that needs to be discussed, fleshed out and planned out.

The first question, is who is the target of this demonstration? Who is our message directed to, and what exactly is this message?

One simple idea, to start, is to simply "Freep" the leftist demonstrators, by positioning ourselves across from them, holding signs of support for our military, and support for the war on terrorism (and support for Israel). A quiet, peaceful, orderly vigil by responsible conservatives would show the contrast between us, "normal Canadians" and the crackpot and traitorous left.

The problem we would face is antagonism, and attacks from the leftists, who would most likely verbally abuse us, and worse. This is actually a good thing, in that it would point out just how vicious and violent these scum really are.

American Freepers have used these types of vigils and quiet protests to great advantage and success. It just take a bit of organization and effort to do it.

Canadian Armed Forces supporters meet here
Al Queda fan club, other corner.

That is a great sign because it is a really effective point.

Maybe you could even convince Connie to dress like Xena - just like the American girl did in Houston.

Of course, it may cost you.:D

Maybe Canadians for Millitary Preparedness ( http://www.c4mp.org/ ) will help you if you plan a rally for Ottawa. Corrie Adolph is the organizer. It would be a great place to collect signatures for the petition to increase funding to the millitary.

*Grumbles about living in southern Ontario so far away from Ottawa*

If you guys planned this properly and raised a bit of funds you could get buses leaving from Queen's Park.

Sounds like a good Idea. If we can plan this in the right way, we can get a good turn out. Please post more updates on this.

What else? Maybe a few stilt-walkers dressed as "Capitalist Pigs" ? Or maybe giant puppets? Or snake-marchers? Sheesh!

This is a conservative event, sonny. The most dressed-up we get is plaid shirts and clean jeans!

Reaching deep into Free Dominion's photographer pool, I grabbed a guy with the guts to try to snap a candid photo of the notorious Connie Wilkins. Early this morning, deep within Connie's Lair: Free Dominion East, he captured the image below and through a clandestine network of encrypted satellite bounces and fiber optic re-routes managed to get this image onto my desktop.

Pictured below is Connie Wilkins when she doffs her sensible shoes.
