The people who are doing the shooting are not licensed to have a gun which is a form of ban. So if they were not supposed to have them then how is it that banning everyone from having one is going to help?

Don't confuse a lieberal with logic.......l've always thought that citizens should be allowed to carry, it would equalize the lopsided situation we have now where criminals carry while law abiding citizens have 911-dial a prayer to rely on.

When some cracker-jack without a license steals a car and smashes into four or five people on the sidewalk because he is trying to evade the police, should we ban automobiles?Of course not, yet handgun banners think that taking handguns from honest people will solve handgun crime What dreamers.

Warmington: Target gangs and guns

Toronto’s shooting victims are getting younger.

Now that we have had a two year old shot, who’s the next victim in this city that is supposed to be so safe?

A one year old? A newborn?

What’s our tolerance level of age of children being inflicted with the evil that lurks here? How young is too young to be caught in Toronto’s drug, gun and gang war?

Children in Toronto being shot, some will argue, is just rare and when it happens, it does not reflect the true state of affairs of the city...............http://www.torontosun.com/2012/07/02/wa ... s-and-guns

This reply in that section identifies the real problem.

Mr Warmington, as good as your article is, you haven't addressed the real issue.

I believe 90% or more of these shootings involves black shooters and black victims.

You did not address the core problem in this target group and that is the culture of AWOL fathers, where neither mom or dad are role models. The black community needs to look around and see why non blacks are successful and they are not.

The overwhelming reason is lack of a traditional family with father and mother in the same home where they can encourage their children to stay in school, get an education and be a contributing member of society. No amount of money or basketball courts in poor neighbourhoods will make a difference until change comes from within this target group. They have to recognize and acknowledge it themselves and decide to do something about it.

I know Mr. Warmington your resticted by the politically corrrect editor and newspaper owner, not to speak about the real cause of these crimes, but the cat is out of the bag and we all know anyway. Not speaking about it, we become part of the problem

Overall it's not too bad an article despite leading with a picture of "scary-looking guns..."
( Here's a cluebat for the editor- a Civil War cap & ball revolver will kill just as dead as the ugliest pistol with the longest magazine- it's an inert piece of iron until a human hand grasps it.... )

I see the comments have the inevitable RAAACIST! trope & tripe. Get a clue folks- facts are facts.
The guy with the roving gas chamber idea may be a little extreme but he has a point- if you started executing gang members you would sure have fewer people joining them...
Just a Merry-Hearted Keyboard PirateBoy, Plunderin' his way across the Internet....

No solution is too drastic to secure the safety of innocent people.

Perhaps al and jesse should come up here and try to lay aside their bigotry for once and help their people.

The lefturds in turd city will only screw things up more. What can one expect when these fools voted in for a third term a liar and miscreantic fool?
