A new Parti Quebecois candidate is calling for a referendum for Quebec to separate.
Who the heck cares? The jerk is not elected, represents no one and does not even have the support of even one riding. This is not news and is unworthy of our attention.
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.

It looks more like a sure fire way for this guy to get his name on the front page. When the advertising budget is low, toss a juicy bone out there for instant attention and coffee shop discussion with your name in the middle of every sentence.

I too would love to see a national vote one day. I think Albertans have more than paid for the privilege.

Once again who really gives a darn. Quebec can start an independent EI plan without separating. Quit whining and go for it.
