I looked at the site. Here is one paragraph:

The debate over global warming is political rather than scientific. It is driven by the people who make their decisions based upon other people's emotional outbursts, sound bites and bumper stickers rather than rational thinking. The people who are most upset about global warming are the people who don't believe that God created the heavens and the earth. (Ironically, these are some of the same people who teach "survival of the fittest" in the public schools.) The earth was designed and built by someone who still has his hand on the thermostat to this day. If that is not true, and we merely evolved into what we are today, then we have no choice but to continue evolving and adapting when the temperature goes up or down.

Very compelling science.

Forecaster blasts Gore on global warming

NEW ORLEANS A top hurricane forecaster says former Vice President Al Gore "doesn't know what he's talking about" in his warnings about global warming.

William Gray calls Gore "a gross alarmist."

The 77-year-old Gray is a professor emeritus at Colorado State University and a highly respected authority on hurricanes. And he has long opposed the theory that heat-trapping gases generated by human activity are causing the world to warm.

Gray's comments to The Associate Press yesterday came on the same day that an international panel of experts on climate change issued a report that concludes the world will face dire consequences unless nations adapt to climate change.

M-I-T professor Kerry Emanuel, who has battled with Gray on the issue before, says Gray has wrongly dug in his heels. Emanuel says there's ample evidence of global warming.

Gray delivered the closing speech yesterday at the National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans.

I'd certainly believe a retired professor known for predicting hurricanes, over an international panel of climate experts and a current MIT professor. Once again, the global warming eco-nuts just don't have science on their side. And, although the article doesn't mention it, I'm sure the climate experts are communists, and most likely gay.

I can't believe any documentary could be more credible than the Great Global Warming Swindle. Nothing but science there. Notwithstanding those who were interviewed who claim that they were completely misrepresented, graphs that manipulated data, and completely false information about volcanoes. But certainly more credible that those communist scientific journals.

And the same entity that “built” the earth and “who still has his hand on the thermostat to this day”, is the same one that willfully allows thousands of children and other innocents to die of malnutrition, disease and violence every day.

It seems the malevolent entity running this show isn’t in too big a hurry to do anything about any of the earth’s problems, large or small.

There doesn’t seem to be any other choice, we will just have to keep evolving.

You would expect fundamentalists to at least get the bible right, even if they get science wrong.

Where does it say in the bible that man can behave however he pleases, and that he need not worry as God will take care of things?

The climate model was wrong, but the warning was just as true then as now: messing with the planet's atmosphere (which at this point no one denies we're doing) without understanding the climatological consequences (which we still don't fully understand, despite vast improvements in computer modelling) is irresponsible.

We have no proof that human action has to much do with atmospheric change. Spending $ billions to alter alleged human effects on the environment without any clear idea of what the results, if any, will be is inane.

If humans are doing it then our entire universe is being effected which I find more fantasy than reality. Yes the earth is changing just as it always has. Are we causing it not likely.

As more and more scientific research continues to mount, proving the temperature of the Earth is not controlled by man made CO2, the GW alarmists will become more shrill in their defense of the theory.

Already they have changed from Global Warming to Climate Change.

From www.junkscience.com today.....

What? <a href=http://www.geoclimaticstudies.info/benthic_bacteria.htm>Carbon dioxide production by benthic bacteria: the death of manmade global warming theory? </a>(Journal of Geoclimatic Studies (2007) 13:3. 223-231)

Presumably this is someone's idea of a joke. We have no record of a Journal of Geoclimatic Studies (after supposedly 13 volumes someone should have heard of it) and the listed authors appear to belong to non-existent institution departments.

Update: we are not the only ones seeking information about this alleged study and its publishers:

      <a href=http://http://denisbider.blogspot.com/2007/11/journal-of-geoclimatic-studies.html>"Journal of Geoclimatic Studies"</a>

Something interesting just happened on the net. In an article that got quickly deleted, Ronald Bailey of Reason Magazine linked to this "study", supposedly by researchers from the University of Arizona and the University of Goteborg in Sweden, claiming to have found an exact correlation between global temperatures and CO2 emissions caused by ocean bacteria. I searched the net for other references to this site, but the only other one I could find had also been just recently posted and deleted. The website of the "Journal of Geoclimatic Studies" curiously lists only one issue on its website - which website was curiously registered just a few days ago on November 2 - and of the several "articles" listed for that "issue", the one about benthic bacteria is the only one available for reading. Meanwhile, John Fleck comments that "the University of Arizona doesn't really have a 'Department of Climatology'" as referred to in the "study".

      Looks like a prank. :-)

The exact match in the graphs alone should be a dead ringer - it's very implausibly convenient.

But isn't April 1 the traditional time for elaborate pranks of this kind? (Denis Bider)

      HOAX WARNING

There is no Department of Climatology at the University of Arizona, nor is there a Daniel Klein or Mandeep Gupta in the U of A directory. Neither is there an Institute of Geoclimatic Studies. The whole things looks like a nice hoax.

<a href=http://www.globalwarming.org/node/1267>Benthic Bacteria Emit Noxious Gases (Hoax Warning)</a>

      November 7, 2007

There's a hoax going round, with a very convincing "study" that claims not only to find a link between "benthic bacteria" and temperature increases, but also has the authors say that they were intimidated into not publishing their findings. You can see this clever piece of inventiveness here. The author(s) have even made up past contents for the fake journal. There is no Department of Climatology at the University of Arizona, nor is there a Daniel Klein or Mandeep Gupta in the U of A directory. Neither is there an Institute of Geoclimatic Studies.

A quick whois lookup indicates that the site is registered to one David Thorpe of Powys, Wales, in the UK. There is a David Thorpe who claims to be a "prize-winning novelist and environmental journalist" there and who runs the company to whom the site is registered. He blogs as The Low Carbon Kid.

Congratulations to Mr Thorpe on his eye for detail and the work that must have gone in to producing such a convincing-looking study at first sight. I'm sure he'll fool lots of people who will find the "findings" extremely attractive, but globalwarming.org is not one of them. We are skeptics, after all... (Iain Murray, Cooler Heads Blog)

Centuries of Yellow River Climate
Filed under: Precipitation, Floods, Droughts —
According to 1,000s of websites trumpeting the horrors of global warming, we find countless claims that the ongoing build-up of greenhouse gases is causing droughts and floods all over the world. Hardly a week goes by nowadays without a front page news story about some weather or climate calamity occurring somewhere on the planet, and global warming is repeatedly claimed to be the cause. Turn the radio to NPR for an hour or so, and you will certainly be told how the failure of the United States to sign the Kyoto Protocol has caused some disastrous flood or drought.

Several articles have been published recently allowing us to catch a glimpse of centuries of climate variations in China, and as we have seen in hundreds of other similar studies, nothing all that unusual has been happening lately. The first of these recent articles will soon appear in Climate Dynamics and was written by the team of Shen, Wang, Hao, and Gong of the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center of the State University of New York. They note that “In recent decades, eastern China has suffered increased droughts in its north and increased floods in its south. The studies of climate models suggested that this trend could probably be attributed to the climate effects of black carbon aerosols and human-induced land cover changes”. Holy smokes – black carbon and land use? Shen et al. apparently haven’t been listening to enough NPR for surely drought and floods in China are related to global warming!

The Chinese National Meteorological Administration regularly publishes the dryness/wetness index (DWI) for stations throughout China, and the DWI records are now available for the past 530 years. The DWI is based on the rainfall in the summertime rainy season with values ranging from -2 for “very dry” to +2 for “very wet.” Shen et al. used the records to calculate areas on northeastern China (NC) experiencing varying levels of wetness and dryness; their study area included the entire drainage area of the Yellow River.

The plots below (Figure 1) show the results, we have stared at them for hours (it was a long plane trip), and we still do not see anything out of the ordinary in the most recent 100 or so years. Shen et al. note that “Among these flood years, 1964 with a regional DWI of 1.54 was the wettest year, when the highest summer rainfall in the period from 1951 to 2000 (40% more than that 50-year average) was recorded and 85.8% of NC suffered very wet conditions. Among the droughts, 1640 was the driest year. The regional DWI in 1640 was as low as -1.9, and 93.6% of NC experienced very dry conditions. A noted hydrological event of that year was the desiccation of the Yellow River and some of its tributaries such as the Fenhe River, Xinhe River, and Yihe River.”.............<a href=http://www.worldclimatereport.com/index.php/2007/11/13/centuries-of-yellow-river-climate/>Continued</a>

Mann Hockey Stick Contradicted by New Study
By Carrick on November 19, 2007 at 10:24 am
Hot off the presses, there is a new study that has just been released by Craig Loehle, “A 2000-year global temperature reconstruction based on non-treering proxies. ” First here’s the punch line:

What this says basically is that, in keeping with medieval records suggesting a warm Europe for that period, that global temperature was warmer during that period than it is currently.

Obviously that’s a problem for believers in anthropogenic global warming.

I’ll note that this is in Energy & Environment, and there is some skepticism about the degree of true peer review for this journal. Nonetheless, the principle holds that “if a thing is true, it is true regardless of who said it”, it’s reasonable to treat this research skeptically, but to also start with the assumption of good faith on the part of Loehle.

I say that because we all know that he will be smeared by the left-wing for daring to question their views; and if not the journal he published his report in, then instead expect any cooperate funding his organization receives to be scruitinized. That does always seem to be a substitute for reason on their side.

Solstice Sea Ice Update - The Antarctic set a new record (since records began in 1979) for sea ice extent at the end of last winter. It stayed well above the normal through the summer with icemelt 40% below the normal. As a new height of irony and hype, the media made a big deal about a fracture of a small part of the Wilkins ice sheet in late February (160 square miles of the 6 million square mile Antarctic ice sheet (0.0027% of the total). Media headlines blared: Bye-bye, Antarctica? and Massive ice shelf collapsing off Antarctica.

But as you can see from this Cryosphere chart below, the extent never dropped to less than 1 million square km ABOVE NORMAL during or after the brief event. Currently Antarctic ice extent is running nearly 1 million square kilometers higher than last year at this time. Peak comes at the end of the southern winter (September). 12 Facts about Global Climate Change That You Won’t Read in the Popular Press

1 Temperatures have been cooling since 2002, even as carbon dioxide has continued to rise.

2 Carbon dioxide is a trace gas and by itself will produce little warming. Also, as CO2 increases, the incremental warming is less, as the effect is logarithmic so the more CO2, the less warming it produces.

3 CO2 has been totally uncorrelated with temperature over the last decade, and significantly negative since 2002.

4 CO2 is not a pollutant, but a naturally occurring gas. Together with chlorophyll and sunlight, it is an essential ingredient in photosynthesis and is, accordingly, plant food.

5 Reconstruction of paleoclimatological CO2 concentrations demonstrates that carbon dioxide concentration today is near its lowest level since the Cambrian Era some 550 million years ago, when there was almost 20 times as much CO2 in the atmosphere as there is today without causing a “runaway greenhouse effect.”

6 Temperature changes lead, not lag, CO2 changes on all time scales. The oceans may play a key role, emitting carbon dioxide when they warm as carbonated beverages lose fizz as they warm and absorbing it as they cool.

7 Most of the warming in the climate models comes from the assumption that water vapor and precipitation increase as temperatures warm, a strong positive feedback. Water vapor is a far more important greenhouse gas than CO2. However, that assumption has been shown in observations and peerreviewed research to be wrong, and in fact water vapor and precipitation act as a negative feedback that reduces any small greenhouse warming from carbon dioxide.

8 Indeed, greenhouse models show the warming should be greatest at mid to high atmosphere levels in the tropics. But balloon and satellite observations show cooling there. The greenhouse signature or DNA does not match reality, and the greenhouse models thus must greatly overstate the warming – and in a court of law would have to be acquitted of any role in global warming

9 The sun has both direct and indirect effects on our climate. Solar activity changes on cycles of 11 years and longer. When the sun is more active it is brighter and a little hotter. More important though are the indirect effects. Ultraviolet radiation increases much more than the brightness and causes increased ozone production, which generates heat in the high atmosphere that works its way down, affecting the weather. Also, an active sun diffuses cosmic rays, which play an important role in nucleation of low clouds, resulting in fewer clouds. In all these ways the sun warms the planet more when it is active. An active sun in the 1930s and again near the end of the last century helped produce the observed warming periods. The current solar cycle is the longest in over 100 years, an unmistakable sign of a cooling sun that historical patterns suggest will stay so for decades.

10 The multidecadal cycles in the ocean correlate extremely well with the solar cycles and global temperatures. These are 60 to 70 year cycles that relate to natural variations in the largescale circulations. Warm oceans correlate with warm global temperatures. The Pacific started cooling in the late 1990s and it accelerated in the last year, and the Atlantic has cooled from its peak in 2004. This supports the observed global land temperature cooling, which is strongly correlated with ocean heat content. Newly deployed N.O.A.A. buoys confirm global ocean cooling.

11 Warmer ocean cycles are periods with diminished Arctic ice cover. When the oceans were warm in the 1930s to the 1950s, Arctic ice diminished and Greenland warmed. The recent ocean warming, especially in the 1980s to the early 2000s, is similar to what took place 70 years ago and the Arctic ice has reacted much the same way, with diminished summer ice extent.

12 Antarctic ice has been increasing and the extent last year was the greatest in the satellitemonitoring era. We are running ahead of last year’s record pace.

What will it take for the media to let go of their biases and begin doing their job, reporting the truth?
