What does the Bible say about climate change?

The short answer to “What does the Bible say about climate change?” , to the chagrin of eco-theologians, is: “Not much.” That was the conclusion that Vancouver writer Pieta Woolley came to as she researched her excellent piece in this month’s United Church Observer.

Headlined, “How Green is My Faith,” Woolley’s feature package thoughtfully leads the reader through the pros and cons of eco-spirituality (a subject important to me over the years), particularly as it relates to Christianity and Judaism............http://blogs.vancouversun.com/2012/06/0 ... te-change/

Read the sidebars, "Sacred Universe" and "The Gospel of Green," in the June print edition.

I'd rather not- the article itself was ghastly enough...

Actually, there is teaching on weather in the Bible. Bad weather and natural disasters are often tied to pagan idolatry, greed and sexual immorality. This is because the earth and nature were created by God, to honor and to worship God. Pagan idolatry and sexual immorality run counter to this purpose. Therefore the earth rises up against these ungodly practices.

Some people cannot accept that Jesus did not come to walk on earth to tell us how to become better astronauts.
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.
