I got a newsletter from my furnace company today and in it there is tidbit that gives me the creeps but is interesting none the less. It states.....Facebood will be the host for an upcoming app that will basically let you compete with your friends over who uses less energy. Designed by OPower and the Natural Resources Defense Council, it isn't available quite yet, but you can sign up for an alert at http://socialopower.com.
Creepy isn't it.

Meh, I don't like it when the govt has access to my power records, but I would have no problem sharing that info with friends.
Let's face it; even absent of this the govt is watching everything you do. All in the name of keeping you from having a little plant matter to consume.
The War on Drugs: isn't it wonderful?

That's not the topic of this thread though is it.

Neither is sharing power records with your friends but I don't mind. I was just responding to your "creepy" comment, which you asked my opinion of. Creepy is the govt watching you (because they're afraid you might have something they don't want you to have), not sharing info voluntarily with friends.

But seriously, LEDs are the way of the future. The light quality rivals incandescent bulbs, and that is something I could never stand about the CFLs - the light they gave off was total crap.
