Others who have seen it concur- it appears genuine. There are so many files it appears unlikely that it is a hoax. From the likes of Yamal, IPCC, Michael Mann, Phil Jones’ take on everything including something from Gavin Schmidt, etc. I haven’t read them, but the titles of the reviews, papers, etc are all listed in full. Email correspondence is also filled to the brim of topics ranging to getting beer with coworkers, covering up lackluster proof of 20th century warming, etc.

It should be interesting to see how the True Believers try to explain away this reality. No matter how often they are lied to, no matter how much fraud and deceit that is exposed, they still hang onto their religious fear of the environment and their irrational phobic terror of a common molecule.

This is going to be fun. It probably isn't the final stake in the heart of the global warming cult, but it will be fun watching those of the faith squirm and try to lie and rationalize their way out of this one.

At first blush it looks legit. Interesting to see how it plays out. This gives western governments an out to any climate change agreements. Be interesting to see if any take it or if the corruption is too embedded.

I'm betting that the corruption is too embedded. Governments have no interest at all in seeing this scare evaporate on them.

The global warming scare is temporary, ultimately the facts will carry the day, but the scare itself isn't really the problem. The big problem is what governments have learned about exploiting a big scare. It is guaranteed that they will apply the lessons they learned from the global warming scare to the next big scare that comes along.

The genie is out of the bottle and I can't imagine how it can be returned. We will pay for this scare long after it is over.

I believe I heard Inhofe callng for a full investigation the other day into all the goings on around the whole scam. This will be the ammunition he needs to get one. There's going to have to be some people going to jail for this. Others are going to be able to use it to stay out of jail. They need to go to one of these guys and offer him immunity from prosecution to spill the beans on exactly what went on, and on everyone else who's been involved.

I believe I heard Inhofe callng for a full investigation the other day into all the goings on around the whole scam. This will be the ammunition he needs to get one. There's going to have to be some people going to jail for this. Others are going to be able to use it to stay out of jail. They need to go to one of these guys and offer him immunity from prosecution to spill the beans on exactly what went on, and on everyone else who's been involved.

I fear the ES is correct. Regardless of what happens, investigation trials or jail time, the systems for harnessing this "issue" is already in place and entrenched. I doubt it will stop anytime soon - it was after all never really about the science or the planet.

At this point - the only way that western civilization will survive is for the whole house of cards to come crashing down (and it will). Hopefully something better will emerge in it's place.

We can be assured Peter Mansbridge will never mention this development on the CBC national news however I'm sure the US Senate committee investigating global warming and cap and trade legislation will be very interested in this revelation.
