The question answers itself. Of course not. But that is the effect of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), more commonly known as the ethanol mandate. More than 1 billion of the world’s people live in absolute poverty. Actually having people starve because corn is used for fuel is right up the green movements alley because it serves to thin the population.

And this happens when we have an enormous glut reserve of oil and natural gas when virtually every building in the country has a natural gas line running right to it. Another social goodie disaster.

Refuse to buy ethanol. Shell V-Power premium 91 or higher has NO ETHANOL. Ethanol also lowers the fuel mileage in virtually any vehicle tested. You're paying more while the producers pay less to put it to the pumps. Engineer Patrick Beddard has covered this misguided train wreck in Car and Driver magazine (the world's largest such publication) for a decade.
