The home page here at FD is very slow loading, when i refresh it hangs for a long while, often spurring me to click off and not bother.
I have a new fast computer and highspeed internet. This does not happen on any other sites i visit?

Try accessing the various threads through the Recent Posts section if the home page is slow to load. Click "Recent" up top.

I'm fairly new here, and I'm unsure of what the policy is regarding sigs. How do you get your sig to show underneath your posts?

Click on probile at the top of this page then on the next page hit on the word pofile above your message list. It will take you to a page where you can click on your signiture and make changes to it. I hope that's explanitory if not I can try again

That's what I tried. I clicked on submission but for whatever reason the signature is not showing.

Do you need to have a certain number of posts before it will show a signature?

When you get to the page that says .... Public information - Personal informations Hit the word signiture and the add what you want and hit submit.

Profile---> Your Profile ----> Profile Settings ----> Posting

On the right side, click the checkbox for "Always attach my signature"

I have the "posts since last visit" page set as a desktop shortcut. I don't go to the homepage any more

OK fellow FD posters, I realize HTML coding is not popular, but you are posting too many long reference URLs. When you do so, you break the right margin of the thread you post to, making reders have to scroll left to right to read you post and replies.

To post a lont URL reference, tupe as follows:

<a href=(Insert URL here)>SOURCE</a>

What will show up in the post is SOURCE in blue letters that are linked to the URL you imbedded. Yeah, that is what the process is called - imbedding a URL.

You can get fancy and code:

<a href=(paste URL here)>[b]CLICK HERE[/b]</a>

which will show CLICK HERE in bold blue with the embedded link.

Have some fun with it and with other tips on this thread. You will be posting like old pros in no time.
