The place for commentary on liberalism and socialism...from a conservative perspective, of course!

We've been hacked

After all of the work that EdS put into posting his Essays on Liberalism, some idiot came along and hacked that forum, first putting up stuff from another site and then deleting the contents entirely. I know who did it and I am going to get to the bottom of it. But I'm afraid EdS is going to have to re-post all of his articles. Sorry EdS!

Oh yes, and the hacker also deleted Ed's member profile so any section of the site that contains a post made by EdS in no longer accessible. I hope to have that problem fixed shortly.

I think that everything has been fixed now. EdS is still working on reposting his articles but I don't see anymore technical difficulties left over from the hack. Please let me know if you see anything that seems strange because it might be something I missed. We are considering filing a complaint with the RCMP against the person who hacked us. I will keep you all posted on the details.

All the original essays have been restored, in a duplicate forum. As well, the original forum has mysteriously been restored, so now, we have two duplicate forums. Though only one forum shows up in the Main Free Dominion Board page, all postings from both Essays on Liberalism forums will show up in Active Topics listing. All that's left to do is to restore the descriptive blurb that used to describe this forum, on the Main Free Dominion Board page.

Both old and new forums' active postings show up in the Active Topics listing. This means that should someone inadvertently post a comment or new item in the old forum, it won't show up, if the new forum is accessed from the Main Free Dominion Board page (where only the new forum is linked). Since both forums contain the same material, we are considering de-linking the old forum from Active Topics; maybe put it back into archives. That way only one Liberal Essays forum will be active.
