Absolutely despicable. The bureaucrats responsible for going against the court ruling should be out of a job.

HALIFAX - Some of Canada's most severely injured veterans say they are still seeing their military pensions clawed back despite a court ruling that found the practice illegal and a decision by Ottawa not to appeal the ruling.

Veterans with debilitating injuries said they thought their payments would increase when the federal government announced in May that it wouldn't challenge the Federal Court decision on the so-called clawbacks.

The court found the government was acting illegally by reducing veterans long-term disability benefits because they were receiving pain and suffering payments and other awards.

I have said before that I think our veterans and those still suffering from injuries in combat have been mismanaged. Up to this point, my opinion has not changed. Those who choose to serve our Country, and do so with honor, should be compensated when their sacrifice causes disability.

Looks like the administration has allowed liberal judges run rampant with their loathing of the marshal class. Where did these people learn this ? Heard stories how wounded American service people had to pay for their own flights to Germany to be treated at medical facilities..If you want to use our noble marshal class to protect your vested interests abroad...You had better pay them and pay them well- It is a double cross - Who gets the lions share of the plunder? Certainly not those that earned it.

That is an extreme way of putting it- but take care of those that take care of you- is that too much to ask?
