Rafferty to hear from Tori's family before being sent to pri

LONDON, Ont. - Victoria Stafford's killer will get to hear from her family members today before he is sent to prison for life.

Michael Rafferty was convicted last Friday of first-degree murder, sexual assault causing bodily harm and kidnapping in the slaying of the eight-year-old Woodstock, Ontario girl.

First-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence with no chance to apply for parole for 25 years.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Heeney delayed sentencing of the 31-year-old Rafferty until today to give members of Tori's family a chance to give victim impact statements.
