Run with the RedDogs

Doesn't fit anywhere? Put it here! Just something you think we might be interested in, humour, a new moon, who knows what...

JB, YOU could have a horse in YOUR yard. Gotta go help kiddo mama. I'll come back down next week. It's really not that far and the Smart runs on air apparently. I made a service check over appointment in Calgary for next Thursday. Hopefully I'll be out of there by lunchtime on the run to the border.

If you don't insist on going through the Park, there's Marias Pass which IS open....runs along the edge of the Park....U.S. Route 2, East Glacier to Columbia Falls.... :)

If you zoom out on this map several notches, you'll see......

On our first trip to Glacier in the late 90's, we drove that route back to I-15 when I refused to go over the Going-to-the-Sun Road from west to east because of the drop off. It's a decent road. A little twisty but fine. I remember it running along the river for long distances and being pretty low elevation with no climbs. There are little to NO services on the route though.

JB, I was looking at that #2 route yesterday. All these years and that would be new ground for me. I'll get this kiddo momma deal out of the way and head back.

Tex, a guy from Calgary ran it a bit wide a couple years ago and hit the hedgerow. Bike stayed on the road. He didn't. The ultimate extreme sky dive with no chute. Probably 30 or 45 seconds before he hit anything. He would have had time to ponder.

Nearly to the US border and back on a Smart sized half tank of gas, granted premium (91) octane as with the Buell. Amazing. For occasional around town use I could go two months without refueling this thing. Kiddo momma wants to drive it. I told her it's gonna cost her. :D

We get the same thing thing with our Aztek but I think it's to see if we talk in complete sentences or monosyllables

Same story every Dominion Day here. *sigh* One fireworks burst followed by 15 minutes of absolutely nothing since. They just can't do it. We've got to bring some Americans in.

I've seen 4th of July fireworks in Sandpoint, Idaho (pop 6,875) that would humiliate this city of 100,000. One year they had the New Year's Eve fireworks the night before , they said to reduce rowdiness. What rowdiness? *sigh*

I'm done with the kiddo momma crisis move and have a lake BBQ and fire ring deal tomorrow night. I have to be in Calgary Thursday to have the Smart gone over and serviced. It could be done...

Where do they put them on, the fairgrounds?

Somebody cracked a smile and actually cheered ?
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.

Around the lake.....at City Beach by the municipality and several locations around the lake midst the multi million dollar sheds...... :brows:

My friend Kenny just happens to live on the hill overlooking the lake so it puts some of the stuff at eye level.

I'm tempted to come down Sunday/Monday and do the Thursday car service in Calgary then on the way back. We can cruise like aristocrats up to Kenny's with the top down cat calling girls in traffic just being hooligans. You'll be around?

That was kind of my thought. Of course it was on the order of minus 36ºc so there was zero likelihood of Vancouver style riots breaking out. I don't get this joint sometimes.

Ok. I've made inquires with both the Raging Elk Hostel in Fernie, BC and my usual place in Kalispell, MT. Chickie outside Sylvan Lake invites me out tonight to BBQ for me and sit around the fire, it was like, "OK, I'LL DO IT!!!", so no departure until Sunday. My neighbour is in Montreal for ten days and I have to tend to her yard today as well - this after helping kiddo momma move yesterday on a days notice. Women! I don't have one in my life and they're STILL a lot of work.
